These bore holes were drilled into the Vintondale Mine pool to drain the mine pool to keep water from entering the basement of nearby homes. The height of the water varies with how much rain we have and how much water enters the mine pool below. Today on January 20, 2017 the height of the water was higher than normal. You can view the bore holes from the highway bridge entering Vintondale at the Ghost Town Trail.
