You will find these ice stalagmites at the Bow Tunnel, near Tunnelview Historic Site. They are formed by water dripping from the roof of the abandoned railroad tunnel on to the tunnel floor. During cold temperatures they get a little higher each day.
Pickerel frogs are identified by the rectangle blotches on their tan backs. They are found in slow moving waters with dense vegetation. After breeding they become more terrestrial and will move into fields, meadows and damp woods.
The Milk Snake is a non-venenous snake that is found throughout Indiana County. They are known for their colorful blotches and pattern. The color can vary from red, tan, grey or brown with a Y or V-shaped mark on their heads. They will put up a little bit of a fight when encountered and will often coil into a ball and rattle their tails. They are a strikingly patterned snake that feed on mice, voles and other small mammals. Contrary to their name they do not drink milk from cows although they are often found in old barns.
