Salamanders are a species that have inhabited our Earth for a long time - longer than 200 million years ago. The population of Seal Salamanders at Buttermilk Falls has lived here for many years also.
We had an enthusiastic group of 'herpers' at our April 18th program at Pine Lodge. The group spent time looking for amphibians and reptiles (herps) at the park. We found seven species of salamanders and two species of frogs, no snakes out on this particular outing.
Sunny skies and warm temperatures greeted these two runners as they made their way along the Ghost Town Trail. The trail is a great place to get in a workout to prepare for upcoming races or just for the enjoyment of running in the scenic setting of the trail.
