About 85 people participated in the Walkworks program at Blue Spruce Park on Saturday, February 11, 2017. During the walk, we stopped on the Getty run Trail to try our 'hand' at feeding the Chickadees, Nuthatches and Tufted Titmice. After the walk we enjoyed some great chili at the Lakeside Center.
Anymore our winters seem so unpredictable, but whenever we have enough snow the cross-country skiers come out to use the trails at Blue Spruce Park. The fields surrounding the lake and the Getty Run Trail are good places to try out.
The winter of 2016-17 has been fairly mild to this point. On this February 9th day we received one of our more significant snowfalls at Blue Spruce Park for the season when eight inches of wet snow coated our roads and trees.
