Half the village is located in Buffington Township, while the other half on the opposite shore of Blacklick Creek is in East Wheatfield Township. As the sign notes the town was once called Franklin before its name was changed. Since 1994 it has been the home to many visitors on the Ghost Town Trail who stop here to enjoy a break.
