R.W. Wehrle was Indiana County's foremost naturalist and namesake of the Wehrle's Salamander. His home was once located where the Indiana Schwinn Bicycle Shop is today on South 5th Street in Indiana Borough. This plaque commemorates R.W. Wehrle's life and accomplishments.
