By mid-May Buttermilk Falls is a green oasis.
It's easy to locate porcupines by the amount of droppings they leave outside their dens. This den was inside a hollow beech tree. Interesting though how the porcupine carved a heart at the entrance to the den, maybe as an extra attraction to help find a mate.
April Claus presented a program at Blue Spruce Park on Reptiles and Amphibians on May 4, 2019. As part of the program the attendees got to handle some specimens like this Corn Snake.
