After the winter beavers become very active in cutting down saplings and larger trees to replace their stockpile of food as well as to repair any damage that might have occurred to their lodges. This particular tree is hung up against another tree so unless the wind blows it down the beavers will no be able to use it.
The blooming of Coltsfoot along our roads and trails is a sure sign that Spring is near. This year they bloomed earlier than normal due to the very mild weather we have experienced. March 8, 2017
