Cascading water provides the setting for this view taken from behind Buttermilk Falls. The stream located in the valley below is called Hires Run.
The Buena Vista Furnace is located along the Ghost Town Trail, about three miles east of Heshbon, not far from Route 56. it is the lesser known of the two iron furnaces located along the trail. The Eliza Furnace in Vintondale is more well-known and more easily accessible.
A few snow flurries in Nanty Glo along the Ghost Town Trail remain on this bench from an early November snow squall.
