Runners who compete in the Ghost Town Trail Marathon run from Saylor Park in Black Lick, PA to Dilltown, where they make the turn and return. This year's event was held under rainy weather but the race had a good turnout nonetheless.
Our Ghost Town Trail and Hoodlebug Trail are only two of many rail-trals that exist in western Pennsylvania. The region is one of the top rail-trail areas in the nation. This scene was photographed at the Redbank Valley Rail Trail located in Jefferson, Clarion and Armstrong County. It's a 42-mile long rail-trail where you will find small towns, great scenery, and wildlife to view. Well worth a visit if you are looking for other rail-trails to explore.
Recent heavy rains have refilled this watery pool at the Blacklick Valley Natural Area.
