Salamanders are a species that have inhabited our Earth for a long time - longer than 200 million years ago. The population of Seal Salamanders at Buttermilk Falls has lived here for many years also.
We had an enthusiastic group of 'herpers' at our April 18th program at Pine Lodge. The group spent time looking for amphibians and reptiles (herps) at the park. We found seven species of salamanders and two species of frogs, no snakes out on this particular outing.
