Memorial Park serves as a satellite site for the IUP Allegheny Arboretum. At the park you will find various trees labeled with small signs that note the common and scientific name of the trees.
In the spring of the year the white, foamy flowers of the Foamflower carpet the forest floor. By late Fall the leaves, shown here, take on a colorful appearance long after the flowers have faded.
Travelers on the nearby Hoodlebug Trail and Route 119 may not realize that nearby Stoney Run takes on a wild appearance with several small waterfalls. The aptly named Stoney Run in this location has a stream bed that is solid bedrock.
