Both Harmon and Trusal Covered Bridges are receiving new metal roofs this spring. A well-protected roof is important for keeping a covered bridge in good condition. This Spring the Harmon and Trusal Covered Bridges will both be receiving new roofs. The photo shows the early work at the Trusal Covered Bridge, Indiana County's oldest covered bridge. The roof is the most important part of preserving a covered bridge. Early bridge builders found that keeping the bridge trusses free of weather and rain was the best way to prolong the life of the bridge. Posted April 2, 2016.
