A light snow was falling when we stopped at the Buena Vista Furnace on an early March day.
In late March and early April the Spotted Salamanders make an appearance. As they swim in the vernal pools they occasionally rise to the surface for a breath of air.
Maple sap is harvested at the Kinter Farm for transport to the nearby sugar house where it will be placed in an evaporator to make sweet maple syrup.
