Walking the edge of a small pond we came across this adult Green Frog frozen to the surface of the ice. We are not sure how long it had been here or why an owl or hawk hadn't managed to find it for dinner. The temperature at the time was 12 degrees.
This photo comes to us courtesy of Earl Carney, Jr. It depicts the Armerford Bridge which is located just west of Dilltown, PA. The railroad here was constructed in 1903 and we believe the photo was taken some time in the early 1900s. Today a trail bridge spanning 225 feet crosses this same location.
The National Recreation and Parks Association recently released the results of a nationwide survey that analyzed support for local parks. The study was conducted by researchers from Penn State University and shows broad-based support for local parks.
