Yellow Creek State Park is a park that complements our county park system. The nearly 3,000 acre park features a 720 acre lake, hiking trails, mountain bike trails, swimming beach, boat rentals and pavilion and cabin rentals.
This photo was taken inside Buttermilk Falls looking out from below the falls. During the 'Polar Vortex' of 2014 the falls froze solid and created some spectacular ice formations.
This lighted train display was always one of our favorite displays at the Blue Spruce Park Festival of Lights. It harkens back to the park's history and connection to the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railroad. The display was built by our maintenance crew. The Festival of Lights was discontinued at the end of the 2014 season after a 23 year run.
