Over the years students from IUP have conducted various archeological digs at Memorial Park to help locate grave sites and markers in the park. During this dig two previously unknown tombstones were uncovered. This portion of the park was once a German Lutheran Cemetery and both tombstones discovered in this dig had writing in German. Information on the tombstones was recorded but because of the condition of the headstones they could not erected and instead were left in place.
This photo was taken in February 2013 during the famous Polar Vortex that descended on the east coast. The waters of the falls came to an almost complete standstill yet even in this cold weather the faint sound of water trickling through the falls could be heard.
