This sidewalk, located underneath Route 422 near Belsano, is how you get from the Ghost Town Trail to the new Ghost Town Trail C&I Extension. After passing through the underpass you travel a short distance on Vic Miller Road to join the new 8-mile extension of the trail. The C&i Extension is named for the Cambria & Indiana Railroad which ran coal trains on this line for 90 years, from 1904 to 1994. The underpass is located where the North Branch of Blacklick Creek and Elk Creek join together.
The number of migrating Monarchs in 2017 seems to be higher than what we have observed in the past few years. This one stopped along the Hoodlebug Trail for some nectar before continuing its journey to Mexico.
