Found in the Chestnut and Laurel Ridges of Indiana County, the Seal Salamander derives it name from holding its head up like seals do. They prefer rocky well-aerated streams and seeps.
Photographed during the annual migration which takes place in Indiana County in late March or early April. At night they migrate in mass to vernal pools to mate. After mating they return to their burrows.
