    Wood Frog Migration

The migration of wood frogs to ponds and vernal pools occurs in early Spring, before the more well-known Spring Peepers arrive. Sometime large numbers will appear in the pools. Their breeding time is brief and when they are finished they will return to the woods and will be seldom encountered the rest of the year.
