Fall on the Ghost Town Trail is about as good as it gets. Fall colors and vibrant sunshine make this a prime time to be out on the trail.
Vintondale was the site of a large number of coke ovens during its heyday. This photo taken c. 1906 shows the bee hive ovens under construction. The ovens operated until the early 1940s. The photo is from the Denise Dusza Weber Collection.
The railroad in the background is where the Ghost Town Trail is located at today.
