Fall on the Ghost Town Trail is about as good as it gets. Fall colors and vibrant sunshine make this a prime time to be out on the trail.
From the 1920s until WWII the Ebensburg Sand, Clay & Stone Company operated a quarry along what is now the Rexis Branch of the Ghost Town Trail. The small village of Red Mill, also known as Nipton, was established by the company for its workers. Only a few houses remain today on Red Mill Road adjacent to the trail.
